John Marrow
Partner
John has over 20 years professional experience in business and investment advisory services, including 15 years in Russia. He has advised clients in a wide range of industries in Russia on board strategic issues, and has served on the Board of Directors of several Russian companies and funds investing in Russia. John’s key experience is in business strategy and planning, corporate restructuring, corporate governance, and international trade and investment. His experience spans media, technology, tourism, energy and manufacturing. John previously worked for Coopers & Lybrand (now PricewaterhouseCoopers) on a range of international consulting assignments. This included a secondment at senior management level to Coopers & Lybrand in Russia, where he led the Strategy Consulting Practice.
John holds a Bachelor of Science degree with first class honors from the University of Manchester and a Diploma for Advanced Studies in Science also from the University of Manchester. He is a member of the Institute of Directors in the UK.
As the founder of Branan in 1999, John played a key role in building and developing the business. Today, John is responsible for ensuring that Branan’s leadership team is effective in setting and implementing the firm’s overall direction and strategy, and he leads our work on international trade and investment.
Boris Dorin
General director, partner
Boris is a key specialist in the company’s strategic planning, investments and social sector of the economy practice. Boris managed projects for such clients as EBRD, World Bank, RAO UES of Russia, IFC Metropol, Alfa Bank. Before joining Branan Boris worked in the corporate finance and management consulting department of investment Bank NIKoil, where he participated in restructuring of a number of energy companies. Boris has published a number of publications in various Russian periodicals on management, operation of business in energy and utilities companies. Boris holds Master of Art in Economics from New Economic School and Master of Science in Mathematics degree from Moscow State University.
Vladimir Volik
Partner
Vladimir is a key specialist in the company’s energy practice. Vladimir’s key experience is in corporate restructuring, strategy and investment advisory services in the energy sector. As project manager for the restructuring of RAO UES of Russia, the largest power sector utility holding in Russia, Vladimir proposed the reallocation of the major governance functions performed by RAO EUS to the governmental bodies and authorities, played a significant role in development of post-reform industry governance system. Vladimir’s experience includes management and participation in restructuring projects for more than 15 energy companies.
Before joining Branan Vladimir worked for IBG NIKoil in the corporate finance and management consulting department where he took part in structuring the holding AVPK Sukhoi, a leading Russian aviation company and in developing marketing strategy of “KASKOL GROUP”, company in promotion the single-engine turboprop to Small Aviation World Market.
Vladimir holds Master Degrees in economics from Russian People Friendship University, Faculty of Economy. Vladimir is Ph.D. in Economics.
Andrei Andrusov

Andrei is a core member the company’s practices. He has 11 years of experience (including 6 years in management consultancy) in financial and economic modelling, marketing and business management. Since joining Branan Andrei has implemented more than ten projects as a project manager or a director in the spheres of strategy development, business planning, optimisation of operational activities, business diagnostics, financial modeling, and marketing research.
As partner at Branan Andrei plays a key role in the company’s management. He participates in implementation of corporate standards, time management and HR system improvement.
Before moving to management consulting, Andrei was chief analyst at Rusfinance, a Moscow based consumer credit company. Andrei’s business career has started with three years in British and French offices of Capital One, a worldwide leader in credit card business. where he worked on many projects related to product optimization and partnership management within credit card and credit insurance businesses.
Andrei holds Master degrees in Applied Mathematics from both the Novosibirsk State University (Russia) and Ecole Polytechnique (France). Andrei is a native of Russia and speaks fluent English and French.
Alex Znamensky
Managing consultant, partner
Alex is a specialist in the company’s strategy, energy and utilities practice. He has 7 years of experience in investment project appraisal, business process optimization and strategy. Alex managed and participated in numerous projects for the clients from the power sector, including vertically-integrated grid, generation and sales companies. Alex also directed the development of company organisational structure, subsidiaries governance model and consolidated investment program for the energy holding RAO Energy System of East, the power monopolist in the Far East of Russia. Alex holds a MSc in Business and Economics from the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia and a BSc in Law from Moscow state University.
